WhatsApp is testing the AI stickers feature
WABetaInfo reported on Monday that WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows users to create stickers using generative AI technology.
The website, which specializes in monitoring experimental features in WhatsApp, said that after issuing a feature that allows users to add multiple accounts on the same device, the new beta version 2.23.17.14 of the application comes to focus on improving the messaging experience.
And the site added: “Specifically, thanks to the recent release of (WhatsApp Beta), we have discovered that a very limited group of beta testers may be able to create and publish AI stickers starting today!”
And WABetaInfo published a screenshot showing the presence of a new button named (Create) when opening the keyboard in the stickers tab.
When this option is selected, the user will be prompted to enter a description that will be used to create a label.
WhatsApp will offer a set of AI stickers that are generated using the previously entered description, and the user can post the sticker they want to share in the conversation.
According to the site, the AI stickers are created using secure technology provided by Meta, and allow users to control the stickers. If a user believes a sticker is inappropriate or harmful, they can report it to Meta.
This feature is believed to have two user experience additions. By entering a description to create AI labels, users can create highly personalized labels related to their interests, experiences, or conversations.
This level of personalization can enhance the overall messaging experience and definitely make conversations more engaging.
In addition, users do not need advanced design skills or access to third-party tools, they can simply enter a description to start creating collages related to written phrases.
WABetaInfo said that the feature of creating and publishing artificial intelligence stickers is available to a very limited group of beta testers who install the latest update from (WhatsApp Beta) for Android, and it will be rolled out to more people in the coming weeks.
Those wishing to try out the new features can sign up for the WhatsApp beta program on Android, and can also manually download and install the latest beta version of the app from here. You can also sign up for the iOS beta program here.
