Microsoft launches a version of the Edge browser dedicated to business
Microsoft has officially launched a new business version of its Edge browser on all platforms and operating systems.
Edge for Business offers a new business-oriented experience that enables companies and organizations to fine-tune their settings for maximum productivity and security.
Edge Browser for Business is similar to the regular version of the browser, with some settings that make the browsing experience more convenient for work.
And Microsoft intended to distinguish the new version with a modified icon and some minor visual changes in the interface, in addition to the new settings.
Microsoft allows business owners to control the browsing policy and settings in the Edge business browser.
The new browser allows separation between work and personal browsing, and it does not synchronize users' personal data in the work browsing window.
The browser can reduce the surface area exposed to cyberattacks, which enhances the security situation for organizations and companies.
For end users who log in with both a work account and a personal account, they will have a better browsing experience by automatically switching between the two accounts, when they open certain websites.
The new browser does not require a separate download, as it launches automatically by logging in with a dedicated Microsoft Entra ID account.
Microsoft says that its developers are working on new features and improvements for the new browser, and it will be released later with upcoming updates.
