Chelsea deals .. the sale of "the owner of lost opportunities" and 3 offers to the top of Europe
Chelsea's management is moving in more than one direction regarding the
current summer Mercato, to consolidate some positions in preparation for
the new season.
In the last hours, the name of the English club was linked to 3 new deals,
in exchange for the sale of its new star Timo Werner.
Werner offer for sale
Sky Sports, in its German version, said that the European champion had
contacted a number of the biggest clubs of the old continent, to search for
an offer to sell his player Timo Werner.
Timo Werner joined the Blues last season from German Red Bull Leipzig on a
five-year contract for 53 million pounds.
But the German international appeared disappointingly, as he scored in 52
matches he played, 12 goals and 15 assists, including only 6 goals in the
English Premier League.
It seems that the end scene in Werner's career with Chelsea will be the
Champions League final, during which he missed a number of opportunities
against Manchester City.
Lewandowski surprise
As for the new deals, the British newspaper "The Sun" revealed that Chelsea
had made an official offer of 50 million pounds, to include Robert
Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
The decision to include Lewandowski came after negotiations failed to
include Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
A mutual deal eliminates Griezmann from Barcelona... and Liverpool is the
biggest loser
Lewandowski has a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2023, and
therefore selling him for a large price next summer will be difficult,
especially since he will have reached the 33rd year.
offensive deal
On the other hand, the French newspaper "L'Equipe" revealed that Chelsea is
trying to conclude another offensive deal with the Bavarian, exchanging
Callum Hudson-Odoi with Kingsley Coman.
Koeman led Bayern to the 2020 Champions League title by scoring the winning
goal in the final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea management relies in its quest to include Koeman on Bayern's great
interest in earlier times to
sign Odoi, before former coach Frank Lampard convinced him to stay.
Odoi failed to obtain a primary seat in the Chelsea squad, while German
coach Thomas Tuchel is convinced of the capabilities of Koeman, who faced
him a lot in Germany, when he led Borussia Dortmund, and snatched from him
the Champions League 2020 title, when he was coach of Paris.
Koeman, for his part, had asked the Bayern administration, two months ago,
to raise his salary of 5 million euros to 18 million annually, like his
colleague Leroy Sani, but the German club refused the matter, before
negotiations between the two parties stopped.
defensive deal
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" said that the Chelsea administration is also
trying to strengthen the back line, by kidnapping French defender Raphael
Varane, Real Madrid's defender, from Manchester United.
The Blues made an offer to include Varane, despite rumors that the Frenchman
was close to United, and that the agreement had already been made, but the
official announcement remained.
It is noteworthy that Tuchel seeks to reform the back line in his team, as
the name of Chelsea was recently linked to Jules Conde, defender of Seville,
and Edmund Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen.
